Deadly clashes between Chinese security forces and ethnic Tibetans in the southwestern part of China have spread to another area.
Tibetan advocacy groups outside China said at least two more Tibetans were shot dead on January 24 in Seda county, in the Ganzi prefecture.
One Tibetan was reportedly shot dead on January 23 in Luhuo county, also in Ganzi prefecture during clashes with Chinese police.
There are also reports that some 30 Tibetans wounded in the fighting on January 23.
They were said to be sheltering in a monastery in Luhuo county, which is surrounded by Chinese troops.
The increase in clashes between Chinese security forces and ethnic Tibetans prompted the Indian-based Tibetan leader Lobsang Sangay to call on the international community "to not remain passive" and "intervene to prevent further bloodshed."
