Ukraine To Host Four-Way Summit

19 August 2005 (RFE/RL) -- The presidents of four former Soviet bloc countries are due to meet together today for talks expected to focus on regional relations.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, who is hosting the talks on the Crimea Peninsula, on 18 August met separately with Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus, and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

The four presidents came together earlier that day to attend ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of the Artek children's summer camp, which during Soviet times was heralded as the premier of its kind in the Soviet Union.
