11 Reported Killed In Iraq Car Bombings

7 July 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Reports from Iraq say at least 11 people have been killed and 19 others injured in the explosion of two car bombs in Jbala, near Hilla south of Baghdad.

The bombs were reported to have gone off within minutes of each other on the evening of 6 July.

In other developments, the Al-Qaeda in Iraq group has threatened to kill Egyptian envoy Ihab al-Sharif, who was kidnapped in Baghdad on 2 July.

Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari on 6 July appealed to foreign countries not to pull their diplomats out of Iraq following at least three attacks targeting envoys from Muslim countries in recent days.
