Kyrgyz President Arrives In Belarus


Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiev (file photo) (RFE/RL) November 27, 2006 (RFE/RL) -- Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiev has arrived in Minsk for talks with his Belarusian counterpart, Alyaksandr Lukashenka, ahead of a CIS summit.


Official reports say the two leaders are expected to sign a friendship and cooperation treaty, as
well as several economic agreements.


Kyrgyzstan announced on November 24 that it supports Belarus's bid to join the World Trade Organization (WTO).


Bakiev will attend a CIS summit in Minsk on November 28.
