RFE/RL is currently seeking a journalist to manage its Russian language regional web site focused on Siberian problems. Candidates should have deep knowledge of the Siberian region. They should also have journalistic experience with ability to produce original stories as well as video and photo gallery. Excellent editorial and management skills is a must.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Native Russian language and a working knowledge of English.
  • Demonstrated writing and analytical skills with broad knowledge of political, economic, and social structures of Siberia, as well as strong general knowledge of internal Russian politics and border-region issues;
  • Excellent management and team-building skills;
  • Active user of social media and new technologies on a daily basis;
  • Proven ability / journalism experience to write and edit stories for web resources;
  • Able to effectively use all RFE/RL content management system options - capable of posting and editing text and photos, making photo galleries, posting and editing videos.
  • Commitment to journalistic integrity and objectivity;
  • Proactive, can-do attitude, with excellent interpersonal skills-- a team leader with ability to work effectively with individuals within and across teams.
  • Must be open to feedback and on-going self-development.

LANGUAGES

  • Native Russian language and a working knowledge of English.
