  • A side-by-side comparison of satellite images of a Russian military base near Rostov appears to show increased activity since June 2014. According to "The Washington Post," U.S. intelligence officials identified the base for the first time as the main source of Russian military support for separatists in Ukraine.
  • A photo that appeared on social media is said to show a Buk antiaircraft missile system traveling through the Ukrainian city of Krasnodon toward Russia. The image was released by U.S. intelligence officials on July 22. According to "The Washington Post," they say the photo demonstrates Russian complicity in the downing of the Malayasia Airlines jet carrying 298 people.
  • A photo posted on social media that U.S. officials reportedly say shows a Buk missile system transporter traveling near the Ukrainian city of Krasnodon toward Russia after the downing of MH17.
  • A photo posted on social media that, according to U.S. intelligence, also shows a Buk missile system transporter traveling near the Ukrainian city of Krasnodon toward Russia after the downing of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777.
  • A satellite map released by the U.S. government showing the path of Malaysia Airlines MH17, the trajectory of what is believed to be the missile that brought it down, and the area of the plane's impact.

U.S. Intelligence Releases Evidence Of Russian Connection To MH17 Downing

"The Washington Post" reports that the U.S. intelligence community has released its analysis of photos relating to the shoot down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence reportedly says the images show the movements of an antiaircraft missile system toward Russia, and increased Russian military activity.
