Every month, thousands of U.S. troops move through the Manas transit center in Kyrgyzstan on their way to and from Afghanistan. The base plays a key role for U.S. operations in the region, but its future is uncertain as Washington lobbies to continue using Manas after the current agreement expires in 2014.
