Georgia has expressed concern about the installation by Russian troops of new barbed-wire fences along the administrative boundary of the breakaway region of South Ossetia. Some of the fences are reportedly located several hundred meters beyond that boundary, deeper inside Georgian territory. RFE/RL’s Georgian Service visited the village of Khurvaleti, where a fence has already been in place for more than a year, to find out how the barrier has affected villagers' lives. Residents say the fences are preventing them from visiting pastures, cemeteries, and even their relatives. (Video by Nana Plieva and Toma Begiashvili, RFE/RL’s Georgian Service)
