What Do Ukrainian Schoolchildren Know About Stalin?

Ukraine is split between a largely Russian-speaking East and a nationalistic, Ukrainian-speaking West, and that divide can clearly be seen in citizens' attitudes to their own history. RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service asked schoolchildren in different parts of the country what they know about Josef Stalin, whose polices were responsible for the deaths of millions of Ukrainians during the famine of the 1930s, and found that their answers mirrored the country's political divide.
