Several thousand Russian opposition supporters marched in Moscow on October 27 to call for the release of people they consider to be political prisoners. The demonstration expressed support mainly for those arrested after clashes in May 2012 between protesters and police on the eve of President Vladimir Putin's inauguration for a third presidential term.
