Rescuers Search For Earthquake Survivors In Southwest China
Rescue workers in southwest China raced to find trapped survivors on August 4 after a powerful earthquake struck the region a day earlier, killing at least 400 people and injuring more than 1,800. State media reports that more than 12,000 buildings collapsed and 30,000 were damaged in the 6.1-magnitude quake in Yunnan Province and the neighboring provinces of Guizhou and Sichuan. (Reuters)
