Ahmadinejad Says Nuclear Talks Could Include Fuel Swap Deal

President Mahmud Ahmadinejad indicated today that Iran is prepared to discuss a possible nuclear fuel swap at talks that resume next month.

Ahmadinejad said Iran might be interested in reviving the deal, agreed in principle in talks in 2009, which would have seen Iran export some of its stocks of low-enriched uranium in return for higher enriched material for a medical research reactor.

Ahmadinejad, speaking a day after the conclusion of a two-day meeting in Geneva with the P5+1 group of world powers, ruled out any slowdown of Iran's nuclear atomic program.

The Geneva meeting -- the first of its kind in over a year -- ended with the sides agreeing to meet again in January in Istanbul.
