Jailed Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova has reportedly been transferred to a jail in Chelyabinsk, in Russia's Ural Mountains, instead of a detention center in Chuvashia, as announced earlier.

Tolokonnikova went on a hunger strike in September to protest conditions and alleged death threats by officials at a penal colony in Russia's eastern region of Mordovia, where she had been detained.

When Tolokonnikova was discharged from the hospital after ending her hunger strike, her husband, Petr Verzilov, said she was supposed to be transferred to a penitentiary in Chuvashia, some 700 kilometers east of Moscow.

But Verzilov and lawyer Irina Khrunova said on October 25 that they received information that Tolokonnikova had arrived a day earlier in Chelyabinsk, some 1,800 kilometers east of Moscow.

Tolokonnikova was jailed for two years over a protest in a Moscow cathedral against President Vladimir Putin in 2012.
