An Egyptian court has postponed until November 29 the announcement of a verdict in the trial of former president Hosni Mubarak on charges of involvement in the killing of protesters in a 2011 uprising that ended his rule.
Presiding judge Mahmud al-Rashedi said on September 27 that the decision will allow the court more time to examine the case.
Mubarak, who is 86, was present in court on a stretcher, after being flown by helicopter from a military hospital.
Mubarak, who ruled Egypt for 30 years, is charged alongside seven of his security commanders with involvement in the deaths of hundreds of demonstrators during the 18-day uprising.
He was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison in the initial trial, but an appeals court overturned the verdict on a technicality.
Mubarak and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, have already been sentenced to up to four years in prison in a separate corruption trial.
