Leaders Of Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia Meet

24 May 2004 -- The presidents of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan are in the Ukrainian city of Yalta today to discuss the creation of a common economic trade zone.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit with Ukraine's Leonid Kuchma, Kazakhstan's Nursultan Nazarbaev, and Belarus's Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

Talks are also expected to touch on a Ukrainian-Russian project to build An-70 transport planes, and also the establishment of a Russian-Ukrainian-Kazakh facility to produce fuel for nuclear power plants.
