30 May 2004 -- Tehran warned the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) today not to put too much pressure on it, saying that could cause the Islamic Republic to end its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told reporters in Tehran that "the agency should not create an atmosphere that pushes our leadership to doubt this cooperation."
His comments come two weeks before the Vienna-based IAEA is due to again examine Iran's dossier.
Iran maintains it is pursuing nuclear programs exclusively for the peaceful generation of energy. The U.S. charges Tehran with seeking a nuclear weapons capability.
