Two Killed In Kabul Hospital Collapse

27 July 2004 -- Afghan officials say at least two people were killed yesterday when a hospital in Kabul collapsed while under renovation.
The Health Ministry today said that two bodies have so far been recovered from the ruins, but officials said the final death toll may increase because about 30 people are believed to be trapped underneath.

The hospital was undergoing renovation by a Chinese company when a floor gave way. The two dead were identified only as construction workers.

At least 22 people have been confirmed injured in the accident, five of them seriously.
