Three Dead In Roadblock Incident In Afghanistan

22 August 2004 -- The U.S.-led coalition forces said that troops fired on a truck that attempted to run through a joint Afghan National Army and coalition checkpoint near Ghazni, killing three and wounding two others.
In a statement, the U.S. military said that after the incident, soldiers searched the truck but did not find any weapons.

The statement said that the dead include one male and two females.

Currently there are some 20,000 U.S.-led coalition forces hunting the remnants of the ousted Taliban regime and their allies in the Al-Qaeda network, mainly in south and southeastern Afghanistan.
