22 August 2004 -- Oil exports in southern Iraq are reportedly back to their normal levels.
An unidentified official at Iraq's South Oil Company said the flow of oil at the two terminals at Al-Basrah and Khor al-Amaya are now back to normal levels -- about 1.9 million barrels per day.
For almost two weeks, oil flow in southern Iraq has been very low due to threats by militiamen loyal to Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr to blow up oil pipelines feeding the two terminals.
