Three Beheaded Bodies Found In Iraq

15 September 2004 -- Members of the Iraqi National Guard have found three decapitated bodies on a road north of Baghdad.
Police sources said the bodies were believed to be those of foreigners, and had tattoos with words in Arabic and Turkish.

Militant groups in Iraq have carried out a spate of kidnappings and several executions of foreign victims. Two French journalists and two Italian aid workers are among the foreigners still being held hostage in Iraq.

A militant group today released a videotape reporting that it had released a Turkish hostage after he converted to Islam.

Also today, the owner of a Jordanian transport firm said he has halted all operations in Iraq in response to demands from militants who took one of the company's employees hostage and threatened to kill him.
