Russia, S. Korea To Combat Spread Of Nuke Technologies

21 September 2004 -- South Korean President Roh Moo Hyun held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow today that focused on North Korea's nuclear-development program and on expanding cooperation in the energy sector.
Roh told reporters after his meeting with Putin that South Korea and Russia will work together to prevent the spread of nuclear technologies.

Roh thanked Putin for Russia's contributions at the six-way meetings on North Korea's nuclear program that also involve China, the United States, and Japan, saying Russia has been playing a positive role in those talks.

The two presidents also expressed satisfaction with trade ties.

Putin said breakthroughs had been reached in cooperation in the energy sphere and aerospace industry.
