Four Blasts Hit Abkhazia

6 December 2004 -- Four explosions occurred early today in the Black Sea coastal city of Sukhum in the breakaway Georgian region of Abkhazia.
Interfax reports there was neither casualties nor material damage.

There is no word on who was responsible.

Police sources say the explosions took place near the regional parliament building, on the seafront, close to a hotel, and near a school.

Abkhazia has had de facto independence from Georgia, a former Soviet republic, since the early 1990's.
