14 December 2004 -- Iran's interior minister criticized the hard-line Guardians Council for proposing to push back Iran's planned presidential election, due to be held next May.
The state-run IRNA news agency today quoted Interior Minister Abdolvahed Musavi-Lari as saying the Guardians Council has no jurisdiction over the timing of elections.
Iran's Interior Ministry is responsible for holding elections and the Guardians Council has a supervisory role of the country's election process.
