Militants Set Their Sights On Iraqi Officials

30 January 2005 -- Militants have launched attacks on interim government officials today, according to international media reports.
Al-Arabiyah television reported that militants struck Defense Minister Hazim al-Sha'lan's headquarters. Meanwhile, Iraqi Justice Minister survived a suicide attack on his home in Baghdad, Al-Jazeera reported.

In the north, Mosul Deputy Governor Khasraw Karwan has escaped an attempt on his life. Two of his guards were wounded in the attack, Kurdistan Satellite television reported.
