More Violence Reported In Iraq

8 April 2005 (RFE/RL) -- An Iraqi morgue official today said that the corpses of 10 Iraqi civilians were found east of Baghdad.
Germany's DPA news agency quotes the official as saying all 10 people were found shot dead yesterday in Balad Ruz, 100 kilometers east of the capital.

Meanwhile, the U.S. military today said an unidentified attacker threw a hand grenade at U.S. troops in Shurgat, in northern Iraq. Four soldiers were wounded in the overnight attack.

Also, Turkish television reports seven Turkish truck drivers were wounded in an ambush between Kirkuk and Arbil yesterday. Six trucks were reportedly set ablaze.

On the political front, Iraq's newly appointed prime minister, Ibrahim Jaafari, has promised to name the members of his new cabinet within two weeks.
