U.S. Discovers Large Bunker Complex In Iraq

5 June 2005 -- The U.S. military says it has discovered in western Iraq a large insurgent bunker complex with air conditioning, cell phones, showers, and stockpiles of weapons.
The Marines said the complex was 170 meters wide and 275 meters long, making it one of the biggest insurgent hideouts discovered in Iraq. They said nobody was in the bunker when it was found.

The discovery was made near the town of Karma near Al-Fallujah in the western Anbar Province, an area where the insurgency is strongest.
