23 June 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Two explosions rocked central Baghdad early this morning.
Police said the explosions were caused by car bombs. The two blasts occurred a few minutes apart. No firm word yet on casualties, although Reuters reports three dead.
The latest blasts comes after three car bombs killed at least 18 people and wounded 48 in a mainly Shi'ite district of the capital in the evening of 22 June.
That attack came as the new, Shi'ite-led government met its U.S. sponsors and other foreign powers in Brussels.
Insurgents drawn mainly from the once dominant Sunni Arab minority have killed some 1,200 people in Iraq since the government was formed two months ago.
