23 June 2005 -- Three car bomb explosions rocked central Baghdad early today, killing at least 15 people and wounding 28 more.
Three cars loaded with explosives blew up almost simultaneously. At least one of the cars was apparently driven by a suicide attacker.
One of the cars reportedly targeted a police patrol, another exploded close to a Shi'ite mosque, and the third exploded in a commercial street in central Baghdad.
Elsewhere in Iraq, three U.S. soldiers died in an exchange of gunfire in Al-Ramadi, 100 kilometers west of Baghdad.
Late yesterday three car bombs killed at least 18 people and wounded 48 in Baghdad.
That attack came as donors at a major international conference promised to help the new Iraqi government rebuild the country.
