Two Iraqi Police Killed In Baghdad Attacks

24 July 2005 -- Two Iraqi policemen including a senior local officer were killed in attacks in the Iraqi capital today, in the latest strike against the country's security forces.
Lieutenant Colonel Imad Hatam Khalaf, deputy head of the Khadamiyah police station in the north of the city, was driving to work when gunmen pulled up in a car next to him and shot him dead.

Earlier, another policeman was killed when a mortar shell was fired at government buildings in the center of Baghdad, exploding between the Interior Ministry and the police academy.
