India, Pakistan Introduce Confidence-Building Measures

8 August 2005 (RFE/RL) -- India and Pakistan are having more talks today on new confidence-building measures after reaching an agreement on 6 August to set up a hotline between their foreign ministries.
The two rivals agreed to the hotline in order to reduce the possibility of a nuclear conflict.

Today's talks in New Delhi are to focus on conventional military issues, including a possible reduction of forces in the disputed Kashmir region.
