Russia Says Kazakhstan Has Extradited Militant

5 September 2005 -- The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) says Kazakh security forces arrested an alleged militant from southern Russia on Moscow's request and extradited him.
FSB spokesman Sergei Ignatchenko said today that Ruslan Chagilov, a resident of the Karachayevo-Cherkessiya region, was allegedly trained in explosives in Chechnya, and he is suspected of taking part in a 1999 Chechen rebel raid on the
neighboring Russian region of Daghestan.

He alleged that Chagilov, who was extradited to Russia on 1 September, was closely linked to two alleged Al-Qaeda representatives in the Caucasus region who were killed over the past year.
