22 October 2005 -- Georgia's recently ousted foreign minister, Salome Zurabishvili, said today that she will soon set up a political movement with a view to taking part in upcoming municipal and parliamentary elections.
Addressing reporters in Tbilisi, Zurabishvili said her husband -- television anchorman Janri Kashia -- will assist her in her new political career.
Zurabishvili said she will not join any existing political parties but that she is ready to cooperate with all politicians who share her values.
Zurabishvili was removed from office on 19 October amid a growing row with pro-government lawmakers.
A French career diplomat of Georgian extraction, Zurabishvili joined the Georgian government shortly after Mikheil Saakashvili became president in January 2004.
In a short statement released this week, the French Foreign Ministry praised Zurabishvili's work as Georgias' foreign minister.
