Three Afghan Police Killed In Bombing

Afghan police in northeastern Afghanistan (file photo) (epa) April 14, 2006 -- Three Afghan police officers were killed in a roadside bomb blast today in the eastern province of Khost.

Just hours before, a suicide bomber attacked coalition troops in the southern province of Helmand, killing himself and wounding three soldiers, two of them British.


The latest violence comes at a time when Afghan and international forces are continuing a major counterinsurgency operation in the northeast of the country, in Konar Province.
