Head Of WHO Dies

Dr Lee Jong-Wook pictured in March (epa) May 22, 2006 -- The head of the World Health Organization, Dr. Lee Jong-Wook of South Korea, died this morning in a Geneva hospital.

The 61-year-old Lee underwent emergency surgery for a blood clot on the brain on May 20. He had headed the WHO since 2003, directing the UN agency's global campaign against bird flu.
