Dozens Of Ukrainians Protest U.S. Naval Presence

A Ukrainian Navy corvette in the port of Simferopol (file photo) (RFE/RL) May 29, 2006 -- Dozens of people on Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula protested against the arrival of a U.S. military ship in Ukrainian waters.

The May 28 rally followed the arrival of "USS Advantage" at the Black Sea port of Feodosiya.


Andriy Lysenko, a spokesman for the Defense Ministry, said the ship is due to take part in NATO exercises.
