EU Says Iran Has Until G8 Summit To Respond

Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel (center) with the EU's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana (left), and the president of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso (right) (file photo) (epa) June 9, 2006 -- Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel, who currently holds the European Union's rotating presidency, says Iran has until the July summit of the Group of Eight leading industrialized countries to respond to an offer of incentives aimed at resolving the crisis over its nuclear program.

Iran has said it will consider the package seriously.


The G8 summit takes place in St. Petersburg from July 15-17.
