Kazakhstan May Get An Economic Ombudsman

The administrative center of the Kazakh capital, Astana (epa) August 2, 2006 -- Kazakh authorities are considering creating the post of ombudsman to monitor the rights of privately owned small and medium-sized businesses.

An aide to President Nursultan Nazarbaev, Erbol Orynbaev, said the new ombudsman would have no decision-making power, but would be assured of the government's support.
