August 7, 2006 -- News reports from Kyrgyzstan say security forces today launched a counterterrorism drill in the southern Osh region.
The exercise reportedly involves forces of the National Security, Defense, and Interior ministries, as well as border guards.
It is centered on the city of Uzgen. How many troops are involved in the drill is unclear.
