Victims' Relatives Visit Crash Site Of Russian Airliner

Relatives grieve at the site of the crash site on August 24 (epa) August 24, 2006 -- Relatives of some of the victims have visited the field in eastern Ukraine where a Russian passenger plane crashed on August 22, killing all on board.
Officials said the remains of 171 people have been recovered from the crash site near Donetsk. Earlier reports had said the plane had 160 passengers, including dozens of children, and 10 crew members on board.

Investigators have focused on bad weather as the possible cause of the crash. The two black-box data recorders have been found and sent to Moscow for analysis.

Religious services in honor of the victims were held across Russia today as the country observed a day of mourning.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has scaled back celebrations to mark its Independence Day today.
