Chinese media say the three-day drill, which involved hundreds of police and special-forces troops, ended on August 27.
Armed helicopters and riot vehicles were also deployed in the exercise along the countries' common border.
It was carried out within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a regional security and economic organization.
