Three Reported Killed In Afghan Suicide Bombing

Coalition vehicles and a Blackhawk helicopter at the site of the suicide attack on November 27 (epa) November 27, 2006 -- A suicide bomber killed two NATO soldiers and an Afghan civilian in an attack today on a military convoy outside the southern city of Kandahar.

A spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF), Canadian Captain Dave Muralt, told AP television that the convoy was traveling between the city of Kandahar and the nearby airfield "when it was attacked by a suicide-borne explosive device."

The ISAF currently has some 32,000 soldiers from 37 countries, according to its official website. The alliance has a policy of informing home countries of troop deaths before making such information public.

Another Afghan civilian was killed when he failed to stop at a checkpoint in the southern Helmand Province.

In northeastern Afghanistan, a soldier with the NATO-led forces was reported killed and another wounded when their truck rolled down an embankment.
