Turkish Prime Minister Holds Talks In Iran

Prime Minister Erdogan (left) with President Ahmadinejad in Tehran today (Fars) December 3, 2006 -- Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan today held talks in Tehran with Iranian leaders on bolstering trade relations and easing regional tensions.

Erdogan met President Mahmud Ahmadinejad and Vice President Parviz Davudi and was also expected to later meet Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.


Erdogan said he was hoping for a near doubling of bilateral trade to $10 billion annually.


He also said the "sensitive situations" in Iraq, Israel and the Palestinian territories, and Lebanon would be discussed.
