January 15, 2006 -- Uzbek-born rights activist Bakhrom Khamroev says he has been physically assaulted by three unidentified attackers in Moscow.
Khamroev told an independent Uzbek information website today that the incident took place on January 14 near the Tulskaya metro station.
He said his assaulters knocked him to the ground, kicked him in the head, the face, and the back before disappearing.
Khamroev works with Civic Assistance (Grazhdanskoye sodeistviye), a Russian NGO that helps asylum seekers from Central Asia and elsewhere.
