Kazakh Fighter Crash Kills Both Pilots

February 17, 2007 -- A Kazakh military jet crashed during a training flight today, killing both pilots.

Kazakhstan's Defense Ministry said the jet crashed on landing at the Karaganda air base in central Kazakhstan.


An inquiry has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.


Karaganda is some 200 kilometers southeast of the Kazakh capital, Astana.
