Afghan Suicide Bomber Attacks Police

April 16, 2007 -- A suicide bomber blew himself up at a police training ground in the northeastern Afghan city of Kunduz today, killing at least nine police officers and wounding 25 people.

Police said the bomber ran into the police compound before guards could stop him.

The attack was the third suicide bombing in three days in Afghanistan. However, such attacks have been rare in Kunduz Province.
