The students tried to disrupt a ceremony marking the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. Some of the activists held a banner condemning "treason and diabolical acts of the British government in Iran."

Witnesses said all entrances were blocked as the students tried to intimidate the guests, most of whom were Iranians. The students also prevented bouquets from being delivered to the embassy.
