11 Iranian Revolutionary Guards Killed In Clashes

(RFE/RL) July 21, 2007 -- Iran's state-run media today said that 11 members of the Revolutionary Guard were killed in clashes this week with armed bandits in southeastern Iran.

The official IRNA news agency said the clashes occurred near Zahedan, in Sistan-Baluchistan Province.

Four of the outlaws were said to have been killed in the fighting. Two were reportedly arrested.
