Wife Of Missing American Plans To Travel To Iran

Robert Levinson has been missing since March (Public domain) August 17, 2007 (RFE/RL) -- The wife of a former FBI agent who disappeared in March while on a business trip to Iran says she is planning to travel to Iran to search for him.

Christine Levinson told RFE/RL today that she is planning the trip even though the State Department has advised against it.

Levinson says she believes her husband, Robert Levinson, is still in Iran. She said Iranian authorities believe Levinson entered Iran but they have not provided her with further details.

Robert Levinson was last seen March 8 on Kish Island on the southern coast of Iran, where he had gone to seek information on cigarette smuggling.
