Russia: Yeltsin Names New Press Secretary

Moscow, August 13 (RFE/RL) -- Sergei Yastrzhembsky, Russia's ambassador to Slovakia, is to replace Sergey Medvedev as President Boris Yeltsin's press secretary.

Yeltsin's staff said the decree on Yastrzhembsky's appointment was signed today, according to the RFE/RL correspondent.

Yastrzhembsky was the head of the Russian foreign ministry's information department under Andrei Kozyrev. Medvedev will now take a job at Russia's ORT television.
