Protests Turn Violent In Northeastern Azerbaijan

Security forces fired tear gas and rubber bullets to subdue rioting in the northeastern Azerbaijani city of Quba, resulting in injuries on both sides. Thousands of protesters are demanding the resignation of local Governor Rauf Habibov, who had described local residents as "traitors" for selling land cheaply to Azeris from other regions.
